Yep, Kyle Schwarber will be heading to Cleveland tonight to meet up with the team for game one of the World Series. And based on a report by Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, Kyle will be on the Cubs’ 25-man World Series roster and he will DH in game one.

Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking. This isn’t real, it can’t be true. Well, evidently it is and, when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Kyle is a left-handed power bat and Cleveland has all right-handed pitchers, with the exception of Andrew Miller. So another power bat in the lineup for the Cubs is a huge gain simply from a match-up perspective.
I went down to Sloan Park this afternoon to check out Kyle and see him swing the bat a few times before heading to the airport myself – I’m actually typing this from the airplane, flying to Pittsburgh and then driving to Cleveland tomorrow for Game one. There’s no question that Kyle looked healthy and he swung the bat quite well too. In addition, he looked good running, albeit not at full speed. Here are clips of his final pitch of each of his first three at-bats.
Bottom line is that the Cubs are getting ready to play in the World Series tomorrow and Kyle Schwarber will be playing too. That is exciting in so many different ways.
