Cubs Quick Hits: Kyle Schwarber’s Stellar Second-Half Production
Kyle Schwarber went into the All-Star break fresh off of a stint at AAA with a .301 wOBA. But to War Bear’s credit, he took the failure in stride and used disappointment as fuel to make necessary changes.
And the changes Schwarber made has worked. Since the break, the Cubs power hitter has slugged 16 homers en route to a phenomenal .380 wOBA.
As the Cubs continue to roll along and now find themselves 4.5 games up on Milwaukee, playing time for guys who make up one of the deepest teams in MLB will be at a premium. One thing is for certain though: Schwarber has been stellar and has produced more runs than anyone on the team not named Tony Rizzo or Kristopher Bryant this half.
