Garrett Crochet Traded to Red Sox for Several Prospects
The hard-throwing lefty pipeline between the White Sox and Red Sox is apparently still open, as Garrett Crochet is heading east in exchange for multiple prospects. Catcher Kyle Teel, ranked No. 4 in Boston’s system and No. 25 overall, is one of the headliners. Outfielder Braden Montgomery (5, 54) infielder Chase Meidroth (11, NR), and righty Wikelman Gonzalez (14, NR) are the others heading to Chicago.
The Cubs had reportedly been involved in talks for Crochet but clearly weren’t the winners for one reason or another. Just for the sake of comparison, an equivalent haul would have been something like Moises Ballesteros (4, 44, James Triantos (5, 55), Pedro Ramirez (11, NR), and Jack Neely (18, NR) or Michael Arias (19, NR).
Hey, at least the Brewers didn’t end up with him.
