Chicago Cubs Lineup (6/15/25): PCA Bats Second, Turner DH, Rea Pitching
Happy Father’s Day to all who observe.
As you’ve probably already guessed by now, weekend lineup posts are going to be a little flimsy due to my other baseball commitments. That goes double today because I have to fill in for a coach who’ll be gone. The good thing is that my kid pitched yesterday, so both of us will be a little more relaxed. To be fair to him, he’s looked pretty calm the last two games he’s started.
The same is true for Colin Rea, who rivals Kyle Hendricks when it comes to being emotionless on the mound. Rea has put up some uneven performances over his last several outings and could really use another good one as he looks to maintain a spot in the rotation once Shota Imanaga returns.
Speaking of which, the lefty went four scoreless in his second rehab outing in the Arizona Complex League. He’ll need at least one more start in the minors before being activated.

On the bump for Pittsburgh is former ace-in-waiting Mitch Keller, who comes into this one with a 1-9 record despite a 4.15 ERA that is far from awful. Keller’s fastball velocity is down a bit, but he still sits 94 mph and locates well. His sweeper, slider, and curve are all decent as well, he just doesn’t put batters away with anything. His best attribute is that he limits both walks and barrels, avoiding big mistakes for the most part.
Outside of three rough outings, Keller has actually been very good. He’s given up three or fewer earned runs in 11 of his 14 starts, and could make that 12 if the Cubs continue to struggle offensively. This has been a very old-school-feeling series with low scores and one-run margins, so it sure would be nice to see the Cubs hang a big crooked number on the Bucs.
First pitch is at 1:20pm CT on Marquee and 670 The Score.
