Pearson only made one start in his return with the Cubs, throwing two innings and giving up five earned runs. He was great in Iowa for the Triple-A squad, but still can’t seem to figure it out in the big leagues.
Fulmer has been excellent with the Iowa Cubs, throwing 24.1 innings with 32 strikeouts. He posted a 2.96 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. He’s only made one appearance in the major leagues this season, allowing three runs in 2.2 innings for the Red Sox back in April.
Fulmer pitched for the Cubs in 2023, logging 57 innings with a 4.42 ERA. Bullpen help is always good to have, and Fulmer has earned a shot at more playing time with a major league club.
