The Cubs have made their second trade of the night, this time with the Baltimore Orioles.

Andrew Kittridge has a 3.45 ERA in 31 games this season, striking out about one batter per inning. He uses his slider 53% of the time with a 34.3% whiff rate.

The right-hander has a 44% ground ball rate this season with Baltimore, fitting the Cubs’ defense well. He limits contact, another fantastic trait for a reliever.

He isn’t a closer, but Kittredge could very well fill the role of Ryan Pressly. The return hasn’t been announced yet, but Bob Nightengale reports it will be revealed Thursday morning.
