The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the NL West on Thursday, officially making the San Diego Padres a Wild Card team. Whether they end up as the fourth or fifth seed is still to be determined, but we now know the Cubs’ first-round opponent.

The location of the first-round series will be decided this weekend. The Cubs hold a slight lead over the Padres, but the teams split the season series, three games apiece. Since the Padres have a better in-division record, they hold the tiebreaker. The team with the better overall record will host all three games of the series, if necessary.
