Cubs Baseball Card Plaque Giveaway to Celebrate Moms, Dads

It’s been a little while since we ran anything like this, so I was excited when the owner of FreshDCards reached out about doing a giveaway for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. FreshDCards offers team packs, player packs, starter sets, and display-ready plaques — all curated from real Topps, Panini, and Donruss cards — and I really dig that they’re very reasonably priced. It felt kind of a throwback to me because the plaques are clean, simple, and affordable.

In keeping with that nostalgia vibe and the upcoming holidays, we want to hear your stories about how your mom and/or dad shaped your Cubs fandom. Doesn’t need to be a novel or even a short story, just however much you feel like sharing. The contest is open to all readers here and on our socials, and I’ll select two winners from all the submissions.

Winners will be selected at 8pm CT on Sunday, May 3, so we can allow time for shipping by the following week. They will receive a coupon code — or some sort of separate instructions; I just don’t want you to have to give me your address or anything — good for one plaque of their choice (up to $48 value).
