Watch: Dansby Swanson Tricks Jackson Chourio on Stolen Base

Jackson Chourio homered on the first pitch of Saturday’s game to put the Brewers up 1-0, and that’s where the score remained when he came up again in the bottom of the 3rd innings. He reached first after grounding into a force out at second, then stole second when Carson Kelly‘s throw sailed high and wide. Dansby Swanson leaped to snag the ball, then hung his head as though disappointed that the ball had gone into the outfield.

Chourio took that as his cue to take third, at which point Swanson fired to Alex Bregman to beat the runner by at least 10 feet. It was an incredible heads-up play by Swanson, but an equally boneheaded decision by Chourio.
