Cubs Place Cabrera on Family Medical Emergency List, Recall Hollowell

BOSTON – The Chicago Cubs today placed right-handed pitcher Edward Cabrera on the Family Medical Emergency List and reinstated right-handed pitcher Gavin Hollowell from the 15-day injured list.

Hollowell, 28, has a 2.51 ERA (4 ER/14.1 IP) with 13 strikeouts and eight walks in 14 games, all in relief with the Cubs this season. He was placed on the injured list on August 31 with right shoulder inflammation.

Cabrera, 28, is 5-5 with a 5.96 (53 ER/80.0) in 18 appearances/three starts this season with the Cubs.

The Cubs play a doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox today at 12:05 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. CT at Fenway Park in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 104.3 the Score.
